Food

Classic hut cuisine, daily specials and information for guests.

Food & Drinks

Good food should be part of a successful day in the mountains at the Franz-Senn-Hütte. Whether after a long tour, a leisurely approach, or before the next summit: we cook hearty, nourishing, and hut-appropriate meals – with an offer that fits the mountains.

Half Board in the Evening

For our overnight guests, we offer high-quality half board options in the evening. These are tailored to an active day in the mountains and provide a pleasant combination of soup, main course, and – depending on the option – additional components such as salad or dessert.

We ensure that our evening meals are filling, balanced, and still fit the character of a mountain hut.

Intolerances & Special Needs

Please inform us of any intolerances, allergies, or special dietary requests as early as possible – ideally already when making your reservation.

Vegetarian options are generally well possible. We can also accommodate needs such as vegan diets, provided this remains feasible within the hut operation and does not require extensive special solutions.

Since we operate a mountain hut with limited storage, transport, and kitchen facilities, we ask for your understanding that not every request can be fully fulfilled.

Breakfast Buffet

A good mountain day starts with a good breakfast.

Our breakfast pension includes a rich breakfast buffet with various types of bread, cheese, cold cuts, Nutella, jam, honey, muesli, and fruit cocktail. Coffee, tea, or cocoa are also included.

Especially practical for the tour: a packed snack sandwich and hiking tea are also included and can be taken along for the mountain day.

This way, you start well fortified towards the summit, crossing, or return journey.

À la Carte at the Hut

Half Board in the Evening

During the day, we offer a selection from our menu. Depending on the time of day and operation, there are warm dishes, small meals, soups, cakes, and drinks.

Hot kitchen:
11:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.

Sometimes our Nepalese staff also prepare handmade Momos – a special treat at the hut.

Please note: The breakfast buffet is part of the breakfast pension or half board. À la carte breakfast is separate and does not include a buffet.

Good to Know

Supplying a mountain hut involves a lot of planning and logistics. Many goods come to the hut via the material cable car, and storage capacities are limited.

We strive to provide a good, varied, and reliable offer – but ask for your understanding that we cannot offer the same selection as a valley operation.

Subject to change.

We look forward to welcoming you at the Franz-Senn-Hütte.
