From the hut, we take the marked trail No. 133, which connects to the Regensburger Hütte. First, the path runs about 200 meters eastward to the Gschwetzbach. After crossing the stream, the trail leads in a wide arc around the Gschwezgrat into the so-called Kuhgschwez. From here, it goes steeply up into the "unnutze Grübl", then over a rock and grass ridge and further over block fields into the Platzengrube. From the hollow, the path ascends to the Schrimmennieder (2745 m). From there, it is about 20 minutes to the summit. The summit of the Basslerin is considered one of the best viewing spots among the lookout mountains of the Stubaital.
